Request a Document
We recommend reading the below important information before completing the Document Request Form. You must complete the request form in order for us to process your request.
Official Transcript
An official transcript is a complete record of your academic history at Fraser International College, and will include all your classes – both in progress and completed – and the grades you received. All academic transcripts are confidential and may only be ordered by the student.
An official transcript is different from an unofficial transcript as it is printed on official paper, signed by the College Director, stamped, and sealed. If you would like an unofficial transcript, one can be printed on your ‘Results’ page in your Student Profile on your Student Portal with no fee or waiting period.
Current FIC students who are planning for their transfer to SFU do not need to complete this application or pay for an official transcript. Your transcript will be sent by FIC automatically if you submitted an application to SFU.
Letter of Enrolment
A letter of enrolment is an official FIC document that confirms your full-time enrolment status, and may be used for your study permit and visa extensions. It includes information such as your program, the semester you started at FIC, the anticipated completion date of your program, and that you are expected to transfer to SFU upon completion.
A letter of enrolment can be downloaded from your Student Portal after you have enrolled in classes for a semester. On the homepage, hover over ‘Students’ and then click on ‘Enrolment Letter.’ If you have any issues downloading the PDF, please contact advising@learning.fraseric.ca for support.
A letter of enrolment cannot be downloaded and must be requested from us if:
- You have withdrawn or have transferred to SFU (see Voluntary Withdrawal or Program Completion Letter).
- You have taken a semester deferral.
Unfortunately, a letter of enrolment cannot be issued if:
- It is between semesters and you are not currently enrolled in any classes.
- You have an outstanding balance owed to FIC.
Other Documents Available to Order
A Certificate of Completion is a simple certificate available to students who successfully transferred to SFU, and includes the following information:
- Family and given name
- School name
- Program completed
- Completion date of program
Please note that if you require more information than the above, we recommend a Program Completion Letter instead (below).
Official FIC Course Outlines may be ordered for specific courses and semesters. Course outlines are often used by institutions in course and credit evaluation. When ordering, students will need to provide the course code (as written on their transcript) and the semester in which the course was taken.
We recommend downloading the course outlines from the current semester on your Moodle.
A Military Letter contains the same information as a Letter of Enrolment, with small adjustments to demonstrate international full-time study. This letter is intended to be submitted in a student’s home country, where military service is compulsory.
A Family Invitation Letter is provided to students who would like to invite family members here to Canada to visit them. This document is required for some visa applications for visitors. A Family Invitation Letter includes the same information as an Enrolment Letter, with the addition of details of the family member(s) you would like to invite.
Please note that a Family Invitation may only be issued to students currently studying at FIC, or taking a leave of absence.
A Certificate of Attendance is issued as a separate document per semester and will state classes taken and absences recorded for that term. This document also includes a percentage of attendance for the semester. FIC will automatically issue a Certificate of Attendance for each semester a student studied here, when requested. This document is stamped with our institutional stamp to guarantee authenticity.
Please note that a Certificate of Attendance is free for current students, and comes with a charge of $20 for students no longer studying at FIC.
A Financial Transcript (Statement) is an official financial record of all transactions made between you and FIC. This transcript will show the date of all deposits made by you to FIC, as well as all charges processed in your account (tuition for each course, and any additional fees charged).
A Program Completion Letter is a letter confirming the successful completion of all academic requirements of your program, and will indicate your transfer to Simon Fraser University (if applicable).
This letter will include:
- Date
- Family and given name
- School name
- School telephone number
- Program completed
- Date commenced
- Date completed
Students who successfully transferred to SFU (or completed 10 courses with a minimum 2.0 GPA) are eligible for a Program Completion Letter.
A Voluntary Withdrawal Letter is issued to students who decide to withdraw from FIC before completing the program requirements. This document confirms your enrolment at FIC from the date your program commenced, until the date you withdrew.
This letter will include:
- Date
- Family and Given Name
- School Name
- School Telephone Number
- Program
- Date Commenced
- Date Withdrawn
- Reason for Withdrawal

Important Information
- Students with an outstanding balance owed to FIC will not have their requests fulfilled until that balance is cleared. If you have questions about the amount owing, please contact FICFinance@fraseric.ca.
- Transcripts may only be ordered by the student whose grades are requested. However, a third party may be authorized to pick-up their transcript via email or phone.
- Transcripts must be sent directly from institution to institution and in many cases will not be accepted when delivered by the applicant. It is the applicant’s responsibility to understand how their transcript must be submitted. Once a transcript is handled by the student, it cannot be returned and mailed to ensure no tampering has taken place.
- It is the responsibility of the student to determine the address and department details for the institution they are applying to.
- Unclaimed transcripts ordered for pick-up will be destroyed after six months.
- Transcripts will not be processed until payment is received in full and unfortunately cannot be deducted from a student’s tuition account.
- You will receive an email with an electronic copy of your document attached to notify you when it is available for pick-up or when it has been mailed.
- Please contact academicsuccess@learning.fraseric.ca if you have any questions about your request.
