The 47th Annual Powell Street Festival

Experience the richness of Japanese Canadian culture this BC Day long weekend, featuring live music, authentic Japanese festival cuisine, captivating martial arts demonstrations, and an array of other exciting activities! The renowned Powell Street Festival, held in Vancouver’s historical Japanese Canadian neighborhood, Paueru Gai (now called the Downtown Eastside), stands as one of Canada’s largest and most enduring community arts festivals. Beyond the festivities, the Powell Street Festival Society extends its commitment by providing year-round programs and fostering partnerships with local organizations, artists, and communities. The festival takes place on August 5 & 6 (11:30 AM – 7 PM) at the Oppenheimer Park and surrounding area! All events are free.
