Multilingual Conversations around Movies: Portunhol

The facilitators will explore multilingual and intercultural encounters elicited by films from different cultures through the screen of selected short sequences. For this session, excerpts from the documentary Portuñol (directed by Thais Fernandes, 2020) will be screened, and the discussion will be proposed based on conceptions of translanguaging (García 2009), intercultural dialog (Walsh 2009) and language contact (Winford 2013).
