September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. It is a day for reflection and reconciliation to honour those who have been impacted by Canada’s residential school system. Lookout for our fourth day of events honouring this important campaign to raise awareness of residential schools at FIC as well as the Student Portal for ways to get involved and learn more individually and online.

Did you know that there is an Archaeology and Ethnology museum at SFU? Join us on Tuesday, September 20th at 12:30pm in front of the welcome desk to walk up to this museum and enjoy all the amazing and interesting exhibitions that this museum has to offer. This will be a great chance to learn more about First Nations culture in Canada and be involved in the learning and exploring of Truth and Reconciliation.

Join your peers in this event hosted by the Community Transition Program Team, meet new friends and have fun while you explore your school and the services available to you. Meet in the FIC Student Lounge at 12:30pm to make your group and start the hunt!

Do you live in or nearby Surrey? Have you visited the SFU Surrey Campus? If not or if you would like a fun tour of this campus join our Orientation Team to learn about the different campus spaces from study spaces to team rooms; and about the different services Surrey Campus has to offer to students. Meet us in front of SFU Surrey Campus on September 21st at 12:30pm to join us in our tour. Bonus- Surrey Campus Clubs Days will be running September 20-21st, so we'll stop by some club booths to learn more about fun interest groups to get involved in as well!
