SFU Health and Counselling is hosting a Movie Night! Join the SFU community and your FIC peers to watch Turing Red while you enjoy some snacks and make new friends.

Did you know that there is an Archaeology and Ethnology museum at SFU? Join us on Tuesday, September 20th at 12:30pm in front of the welcome desk to walk up to this museum and enjoy all the amazing and interesting exhibitions that this museum has to offer. This will be a great chance to learn more about First Nations culture in Canada and be involved in the learning and exploring of Truth and Reconciliation.

Join your peers in this event hosted by the Community Transition Program Team, meet new friends and have fun while you explore your school and the services available to you. Meet in the FIC Student Lounge at 12:30pm to make your group and start the hunt!

The FIC Peer Mentorship Program offers one-on-one sessions with a mentor each week. This program is for students who are looking for support outside of just academics, and are wanting to build connections with an experienced member of the FIC Community. To learn more about this program, join this mingler to express your interest and complete the application form found in your FIC email!

The Canadian Government Formally recognized Monday, September 19th, 2022 as a federal holiday for federal government employees in recognition of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Further to that announcement, The Government of British Columbia has advised all provincial public section employers to observe this day, including K-12 public schools and public post-secondary institutions. As part of this directive, SFU and FIC will cancel all classes and suspend non-essential campus services on Monday, September 19th, 2022. Classes and services will resume on Tuesday, September 20th.

Help SFU meet its goal of raising $10,000 for cancer research in the name of former SFU student and Canadian hero, Terry Fox.

Did you know that you have free access to many of the resources and services found and provided by SFU to its students, staff and community members? Meet us at the Welcome Desk on September 7th at 12:30 to walk up together to the SFU Services Fair!

Bring your friends or come to meet new people and have fun at SFU StreetFest! Meet us in front of the Welcome Desk on September 16th at 12:30pm or 2:30pm to go to the festival with your friends and other FIC peers!
