Join language and literature specialists: Dr. Luana Lamberti (Iowa State), Pedro dos Santos (Kwantlen Polytechnic), and SFU’s Portuguese Language Instructor Camila Dilli, for a roundtable discussion around languages and movies.
Join SFU Linguistics for a research talk on Indigenous language revitalization by Jasḵwaan Bedard, presented by the Indigenous Languages Program (INLP) of the Department of Linguistics. Title: X̱aad Kíhlga Tl’a Guusuugiigang: A Haida Research Framework for Learning X̱aad Kíl. This event is free and open to all.
The Multilingual Booths are among the most popular events of SFU’s Multilingual Week, now in its fourth year. These interactive tables can be found along AQ South, just around the corner from Mackenzie Cafe. Running from 11am to 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during Multilingual Week, February 24-26th, the booths host many SFU departments, student clubs, etc.
Everything is free and everyone from the SFU community, including FIC, are invited to attend! Multilingual SFU proactively fosters an inclusive environment, where everyone - regardless of their native languages - feels valued and heard. This festival is about highlighting the ubiquitous presence of multilingualism in the university and contributing to a more equitable and inclusive campus where everyone can thrive.
