June 21st is a captivating day of cultural immersion, to honour and pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of Indigenous communities. There are many events to immerse yourself in traditional music, captivating storytelling, mesmerizing dances, and mouthwatering cuisine all across Vancouver!

Celebrate the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures as we honor National Indigenous Day across various locations in Vancouver, Port Moody,  Surrey, the Lower Mainland, West Vancouver and way more!

Surrey, Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre located at 17728 64 Avenue

The event in Surrey typically encompasses opening and closing ceremonies, a community barbecue, live performances, and various other activities. It is known to be a significant gathering, drawing in a substantial crowd of several thousand attendees each year. The event boasts numerous vendors and community stalls, offering a wide array of options, and the entertainment lineup is extensive, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. West Vancouver, Ambleside Park

On June 21st, National Indigenous People’s Day festivities occur at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. The celebrations, which run from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm, honor the occasion on the traditional and unceded territories of the Skwxwu7mesh (Squamish) People.

This year’s event offers an array of engaging activities, including captivating storytelling sessions, immersive workshops, and live entertainment. Additionally, attendees have the opportunity to partake in canoe paddling, adding a hands-on and interactive element to the celebration. Port Moody, Rocky Point Park

The event this year takes place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, offering an enjoyable experience for the whole family with a range of complimentary activities. These include mesmerizing drumming performances, soulful singing, and a collaborative community art project. Furthermore, there will be a community feast.
